About PRESAGEcme™

PRESAGEcme.org™ (Prevention of ThRomboembolic Events, Including Stroke, Among Patients with Atrial Fibrillation: A Focus on the CoaGulation CascadE) houses a national educational curriculum that addresses the best practices for prevention of stroke in patients with atrial fibrillation.

To improve clinical outcomes of patients with AF, practitioners must keep abreast of the latest information and best practices for effective AF management.

Educational Objectives
After participating in this educational curriculum, participants should be able to:

  • Utilize available stroke risk stratification schemes to further identify risk profiles among patients within your clinical practice
  • Describe the current utilization rates of anticoagulants for the prevention of stroke among patients with AF and the risks associated with underutilization of these agents
  • Identify at least two barriers faced in clinical practice that impede adherence to AF treatment guidelines for the prevention of stroke and discuss ways to overcome these barriers
  • Describe the novel targets in the coagulation cascade that are the basis for newer antithrombotic therapies and discuss their potential implications for stroke prevention among AF patients
